Roll-fed Labeller
Roll-fed labellers use label material supplied from a reel for wraparound applications. The reel format, label length and bottle circumference must be checked together when evaluating a used machine.

Technical guide: Roll-fed Labeller
Specify the label material and bottle dimensions, and ask which cutting, gluing and bottle-handling components are supplied for the proposed format. Review reel-change arrangements if continuity of production is important for your line. A machine’s maximum stated speed should be confirmed against the actual bottle and label combination.
Technical guidance for selection
Sidel’s EvoDECO Roll-Fed documentation describes hot-glue application of wrap-around labels and different configurations. When selecting a used roll-fed labeller, compare label material and dimensions, bottle format, installed stations and changeover equipment. Performance in OEM documentation does not automatically represent the machine offered for sale.

Terminology used in the market: Market terminology includes used labeller, used labeling machine, bottle labeler and industrial labelling equipment. Application technology, label count and position remain the decisive criteria.
Labelling technology and format change: Roll-fed Labeller
Used labelling machines must match the label material, adhesive technology, container geometry and decoration layout. Pressure-sensitive, cold-glue, hot-melt pre-cut, roll-fed and sleeve applications use different stations and handling systems; combined machines may integrate more than one technology.
Information to verify
- label material, dimensions, reel or magazine specification
- container shape, material, orientation marks and stability
- label position, number of applications and required accuracy
- installed stations, glue units, cutting drums or sleeve tunnels
- stars, screws, plates, centring bells and electronic recipes included.
Request bottle and label drawings before checking a used labeller. Verify the real configuration of each station, the direction of travel and the change parts supplied, particularly where shaped containers or multiple label positions are involved.
